Memorial Day Weekend Fun

Wow, what a fun and busy Memorial Day weekend! Friday, we got an early dismissal from work at 3:00, which was really nice. Jon and I were able to get some running around done before we had to pick up Madison from school. We rested up Friday night and headed out in the morning for Cedar Point! The weather looked like it might not hold out for us, but it turned out to be a beautiful day! Madison really enjoyed herself this year. She got to ride the Carousel and the Cadillac cars. We walked around and played games and ate lots of junk food! :) The kid loved watching the roller coasters. As they went by she would point and go "ooohhhh". Too cute. She did amazing! Not one melt down and she only slept for about 40 minutes the whole day.

Sunday, we decided to have a cookout. It was hot out so I ran up to Toys R Us and picked up a little sprinkler for Madison. She had a blast running under the water, and of course, after you are all wet what could be more than going to play in your sandbox. Aunt Rachel and her played in her sandbox for almost an hour! :) We had a great time with family and good friends!

Monday, today, we woke up and got dressed. We went to lunch with Aunt Dawn and Uncle Paul at BW3 and then they were nice enough to take us to the splash park in Fairview. It was so fun to watch her running under the water this year. Aunt Dawn was brave enough to get a little wet and play with the munchkin in the water! :) It was a fun day. Thanks guys! :)

Professional Family Photos

So, while we were in Florida my mom and dad set it up for us to have our photos taken. It was a lot of fun! They came out pretty good considering Madison was ready for her nap! Here they are as promised!

Corn on the Cob

Tonight was an amazing eating night for Madison! This kid is really starting to be able to eat! She ate an entire hot dog, a cup of fruit, some applesauce, some oranges, and believe it or not, some corn on the cob! We started off just holding it for her, but that only lasted so long. She wanted to do it herself! Here are the pictures to prove it!

Metro Parks and Bubbles

This past Monday it was nice outside when we got off work so we hurried up, got in the car, and went to the Metro Parks. We had a good half hour before the storms hit! Madison had a blast playing and running in the large field. Needless to say, this kid of ours has no fear. There was another couple there walking and she decided she was done with us and just started following them! To funny! I will say that she did keep turning around to make sure that we weren't to far behind. Once it looked like the sky was going to open we headed home. We played in the garage with a Turbo Bubble maker! It was a fun night and we are hoping these nasty storms are over with!

Florida Vacation May 2011

We are still dreaming of the beach and sunny warm weather! What an amazing vacation! Last week we went to Florida to visit my mom and dad aka Grammy and Gramps! We had an amazing time and my parents were wonderful! There is nothing like a week of sleep and rest and relaxation! We got there on Friday morning and hung out at the house, swimming in the pool and having a few Corona with some fresh lime off their lime tree! AWESOME!! Madison had a blast swimming in the big pool, but she really loved the little pool that Grammy and Gramps got her that had a little slide! :) She spent most of the afternoon getting in and out of that little pool. The next day we just kind of hung out again at the house. Jon and I went fishing, and yes folks, I caught a fish and Jon didn't! He He He! :) My parents watched the little one that night and we got to go to the casino and have a little fun. Sunday we hit the beach! Madison loved, loved, loved, playing in the sand. This year she was walking up and down the beach picking up sea shells! Too cute! She kept picking up the big pieces of the broken shells and putting them in a little cup. I saved them to show her when she gets older. On Monday we got family pictures taken on the beach! That was a lot of fun! Thanks Grammy and Gramps for setting that up! The photographer got some great pictures and as soon as we get the disc I will share them with you all. We then went over to Boca Grand and hit the beach. Now, for those of you who know me, I love finding sea shells! We hit the gold mine at this beach! Tons of really cool shells. That day my dad bought a pass that gets you into the national park beaches after hours. What an awesome thing! Jon and I went back three nights in a row! I swear, we were the only ones on the beach! We walked the beach with dive flashlights looking for sea shell, drank wine, and just relaxed! We also took Madison to an aquarium up in Sarasota! She LOVED it! They had two huge sea turtles that would swim right up to the glass. Of course, Grammy had to buy Madie a stuffed turtle! We all know she loved it because Grammy worked on teaching Madison to say turtle and now she says turtle! :) She also learned to say baby and boo boo. It was an amazing vacation! Madison also discovered the shower that my parents have on their lanai! She kept running under and through it like it was a sprinkler! Thanks again Grammy and Gramps! We all miss you very much!
