Madison's First Birthday
Wow, a year has gone by already! I can't believe it. I know this post is late, but things have been crazy around the Gluvna house! Madison turned on on February 12th. Poor thing, for her birthday this year she got pneumonia and RSV :( The Saturday before her birthday, she started up again with a runny nose, her usual MO, so we made a trip to the doctor. Once again she was put on an antibiotic. Within a day she seemed to be doing much better and was back to her usual self. That Wednesday, she woke up in the morning with a fever of 104, so it was back to the doctor again. Her doctor thought it was just a virus, so she told us to keep up on the antibiotic and to give her Tylenol and Motrin to keep the fever down. Her fever was up and down the rest of the week. I think the lowest my mom and I got it was around 100. When her birthday rolled around on Saturday, she seemed to be doing much better so we decided to have her party. She wasn't really into the whole cake thing, which is very unlike her, and had a melt down for about an hour. Once she calmed down she came down stairs and had a really good time opening up all of her gifts. She is blessed with a wonderful family and friends who really spoiled her for her first birthday! Once again, her closet is busting and the seems, and so is our house from all of the toys. She got ride on toys, a wagon, a tricycle, and a ton of other stuff! :) Thank you everyone!!! Well, since my parents were in town Jon and I decided to go out and celebrate that we survived our first year :) When we came home, I check on her and the fever was back up to 103. On Sunday morning, her breathing was really shallow and fast and the poor kid just wanted to sleep. Once we got a hold of her doctor, she advised us to take her to the ER. There, after and RSV test and chest x-rays, we found out she had pneumonia and RSV, a double whammy! We were admitted to Fairview hospital and spent three nights there. The kept up on her breathing treatments and started her on IV antibiotics for the pneumonia. Monday was Valentine's day, so Daddy bought Madison a huge stuffed dog and Uncle Timmy bought her one too! LOL, the hospital even gave her a stuffed bear for her birthday. The kid had no room in her hospital crib! By Tuesday she was feeling much better, but her doctor decided to keep her one more night to make sure her Oxygen levels maintained while she was sleeping! She did great and we were released early Wednesday morning. I do have to mention that my mom and dad were in town from Florida! They were absolutely wonderful during all of this! My Mom and Dad spent the entire night with her on Monday night so we could get some rest and my mom wanted to spend even more time with her and stayed Tuesday night too! Thanks mom and dad! I don't think we would have made it through three nights in the hospital!! :) Anyways, once home she continued to get better. They sent her home on antibiotics and they seem to be doing the trick. We also let her have fun with her Smash cake that Aunt Amanda got her! She really tore into it this time because she was feeling better I don't have her one year stats yet because we missed her appointment due to her being in the hospital. She has her one year well check tomorrow so I will post those then! Warning, a bunch of pictures will follow! Thank you Mr. Barth for taking the pictures at her party! :) You are the best!!! I also have pictures of her tearing up her smash cake when she was feeling better! We are hoping to have a snot free nose for her 1 year pictures sometime next week!

Another Trip to the Science Center
Last weekend we had cabin fever and decided to venture down to the science museum with Dawn, Nancy, Marty, and Ty. What a fun day. This time around was so different. She was actually interested in what was going on around her. She was able to be more hands on with some of the exhibits, pushing buttons and playing with some blocks. This time she was also able to enjoy the play area. She was literally laughing out loud and the "fun house" mirrors they had. She couldn't figure out what was going on! It was another fun day with great people! In the pictures, you will notice that Madison had an outfit change. She decided it would be fun to pee out her diaper and onto Mommy! It was still a good time though! :)
Big Girl Bath
Well, from the previous post, you know that Madison had fun finger painting! Well, of course after that, she had to have a bath. We were having the hardest time with her in her little duck tub, so we decided to try a big girl bath! Sooooo much better! She actually enjoys getting bathes now. I think she thinks it is a big swimming pool! She enjoys splashing around and getting Mommy and Daddy wet!
One Big Mess!!
The other weekend we decided it would be fun to let Madison have another go at finger painting! This time it was a way bigger mess!! :) She actually enjoyed pushing the paint all over the paper! Needless to say, she decided it would be fun to taste the paint....I guess she decided she didn't like it! We had paint everywhere, which you will see in the following pictures.
